Smorgasbord

Laura likes to read big kid books. When I find her 'reading' books it is usually anything but her baby board books.

Cayden gave us a scare a few weeks ago and ended up in the ER for the afternoon. He had been complaining about his neck and the back of his head hurting for a few days. One day he had a fever of 103.6 and the Dr was concerned it could possibly be meningitis. We were sent to the ER for him to be tested. Turns out the test for meningitis is pretty extensive (very similar to an epidural) and they don't like to do it if they don't have to. The ER Dr checked him out and found white spots on his tonsils. They tested for strep, but it came back negative. Still, a negative can be wrong sometimes and he had perked up since the Tylenol they gave him. The Dr was pretty convinced he didn't have meningitis and sent us home with some antibiotics for strep just in case. Cayden is doing great now and acts just fine. Thank heavens for antibiotics, Drs, and for not having meningitis!

Laura pushing Cayden in the toy bin at Grandma and Grandpa H's house. They both were loving it!

A nice old man gave me some quarters to let the kids have a ride while at the grocery store. If you look closely, you'll notice the huge lump in Cayden's cheek - gum, complements of the old man. And I just love the look on Laura's face.

Cayden likes to dress up in Chad's clothes and pretend he is going to work. I think it's so cute.

Our new car! Just kidding, but Chad really wishes it was our new car. Chad and Cayden took our neighbor's M3 for a drive and loved it. When they got home I asked Cayden what he thought and he said, "Mom, that was incred-ed-able!" Ha ha ha! I about died. Kid is just like his daddy.

We had Taco Bell for lunch one day on the way to visit Chad's family. Laura was eating some of their cinnamon twists in the car on the way up and passed out. Notice the cinnamon twist clutched in her hand? She was sticky and covered in cinnamon when we woke her up. And the first thing she did when she woke up? Put her hand in her mouth to try and finish the cinnamon twist she had been holding so tightly.

I was helping Chad with the lawn this past weekend so we could go run some errands. (I mowed the big flat part while Chad used the weed wacker.) Laura wasn't a big fan and ended up getting a ride on the lawn mower. She was still a bit scared, but at least she wasn't screaming.

See the perfect little circle bruise under Laura's eye? That's what happens when a tower of Duplos falls on your face. Poor baby.
