My Little China Baby

Remember when my sister bought Laura a cute little dress when she was in China? Fast forward 15 months and it finally fits! We pulled it out of the closet and Laura wore it for the first time today. She looked ridiculously cute and I can't tell you how many people commented on it. One guy in our ward wanted one for his daughter and asked where we got it. When I told him China he said that it was probably a little too far for him to go and get one. :)

Love this little dolly!

That little smile just melts my heart!

Can't forget my little man. Love his sweet face too! We don't often catch a genuine smile in pictures, so this picture is priceless. Plus, look at Laura. I die laughing.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

I've had a really hard time blogging the past few months. I feel like we do the same thing every day and so I don't ever really take any pictures. Then since I don't have pictures, I don't blog. Plus, nothing blog-worthy ever happens. So I'm kinda stuck. Here's to an attempt at getting unstuck and hopefully getting better at blogging and taking pictures in the near future.

Getting ice cream at Arctic Circle. They have the perfect size play area for Laura and Cayden (lots of other play places are too big for them) so we drive 15 minutes to go to it. While Laura loves ice cream, we discovered that she really loves ice cream cones!

Getting into the cupboards at Gma and Gpa Higgins' house. We walked into the kitchen and found her just digging around.

Telling us off for catching her and trying to take her away.

Chad got his top wisdom teeth taken out this past week and when he came home he handed me this prescription. I thought it was legit at first and was surprised because Chad had told me previously that he didn't want any prescription drugs. Our dentist must think he's funny. :)

Birthday Baby!

What a difference a year makes! This little girl has brought so much joy, love, laughter, frustration, worry, and happiness to our life. She is feisty, spunky, opinionated, loving, and has so much personality. We sure love our little Laura bug and feel so blessed that she joined our family. I can't wait to see all the great things she will do in and with her life. Love her to pieces!

Left: Laura the day she was born.
Right: One year old!

Laura went in for her 12 month check-up today. The results...

Weight: 21 lbs 6 oz = 60%
Height: 30.5" = 90%
Head: 18.5" = 90%

Average weight, tall, and super smart. :) She is growing and developing perfectly which makes me one happy momma.

We kept Laura's birthday pretty low key and celebrated with both sets of Grandparents (at Chad's parent's house and with my parents via Skype). Laura got spoiled and loved on all day and Cayden was just as happy about Laura's presents as she was.

Loves her dolly stroller! Cayden plays with it just as much as Laura does (if not more).

Unwrapping her car and ball (picked out by Cayden).

Laura LOVES this ball and chases it all over the house.

The car is also a favorite. It has resulted in a few fights between the kids. Cayden either pulls Laura out to get in himself or Laura wants to get in when Cayden is playing with it. :)

If I had to pick Laura's favorite present it would have to be her "pretties" (i.e. jewelry). She carries them around all day every day and gets really upset/tells you off if you try to make her put them down to go somewhere.

For Laura's birthday cake I made ice cream cone cupcakes! They were so dang cute! Some had sparkly pink frosting and others had sparkly purple frosting.

Singing 'Happy Birthday!'

(Unlike Cayden, Laura has no problem getting dirty.)

 Love this face.

 "That was good stuff Mom!"
