- Cayden went to bed at 10pm the night before and woke up at 1:30am and 4:30am. Another night of no sleep.
- Chad was suppose to spend the morning working on a paper before school, but had to run into work because a retarded someone (they shall remain nameless) forgot their keys to open the store. Yay for another morning where I didn't see my husband.
- I went to fill Cayden's prescription and was told it would take 30 minutes. Fifty minutes later I finally had the prescription in hand.
- Cayden slept for 30 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon. He then wanted to go to bed at 6pm and I had to fight to keep him awake for two hours. Nutty boy.
- I got a sore throat.
- I decided to help Chad out and start mowing the lawn so that there would be less he had to do when he got home. In the process a lovely tree branch attacked my arm and I now have a beautiful 8" scratch down my arm. It hurts.
- Cayden decided it would be fun to hold all of his medicine in the back of this throat instead of swallowing it. After 15 minutes of trying to get him to swallow he and I were both sticky (I'm not sure how much actually made it into his stomach). Cayden, just FYI... this new trick isn't very funny.
- Because Cayden didn't take much of his medicine he ended up spitting up all day. I'm not talking about normal amounts of baby spit, but enough each time to soak through an entire burp rag. During one particular burping Cayden managed to spit all over my shoulder and down my shirt where it puddled in my bra. Yummy.
- I smelled like spit (from Cayden) and dirt (from mowing the lawn) all day and didn't end up getting a shower until after Cayden went to bed.
- Instead of getting home at 6:45pm, Chad got home at 7:30pm. Stupid people.
- Even though he was exhausted, Cayden wouldn't go to bed. It took me over an hour of feeding/rocking to finally get him down.

Things
This is like magic. It cleaned out my drain. The same drain Chad and I have been trying to unclog for months... Next time I'll know what to use.
This got stuck in Cayden's leg yesterday. Poor little guy. It almost made me cry. Thankfully he has only been a little fussy; he is responding a lot better than I thought.
This is the time that Cayden has been getting up the past few nights. He also seems to think it is funny to stay up for at least an hour and a half. I happen to think otherwise.
This is what Cayden and I will be getting on in a few weeks (Sunday, October 11th to be exact) to go visit my family. So. Excited. Too bad Chad can't come with us. Darn school and work. :(
These got pulled out of storage the other day. I love fall!
This has taken up residence outside of Cayden's window. Hopefully it doesn't find its way inside.

WARNING: Don't let this cute face fool you!
This little boy has been a punk all week. Ever since he was born, Cayden has taken his naps in his swing. This past weekend I realized the reason he is so grumpy on Sundays is because he doesn't get a nap all morning since we don't bring his swing to church. I decided that it's about time he learns to sleep without his swing otherwise on vacations and any time he stays with his grandparents he will be one grumpy puppy.
On Tuesday of this week I started laying Cayden down in his crib at naptime. So far we're not doing so great. Cayden will stay asleep for 15-20 minutes and then wake up crying. He'll then stay up for 1 1/2-2 hours and then is tired out of his mind so he falls asleep. I put him down in his crib and the whole cycle starts over. We're on day four... I'm exhausted, Cayden is exhausted, and I'm about ready to give up and just put him in the swing for naps. Why is this so frustrating? Why will he sleep forever at night in his crib without problems, but not in the middle of the day? I know he is tired.
I think I'm going to lose it.
Surprise, surprise... baby is crying. Just woke up from his 15 minute nap. *sigh*

Not A Very Nice Joke
Labor Day... Family (cousins, mom, siblings) came over to play games and eat delicious Chocolate Turtle cheesecake. That night Cayden slept through the night! I was so excited, but chalked it up to him being worn out from all the attention he got and noise at our house. Tuesday night he woke up as usual, but then came Wednesday night. And Thursday night. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday. I couldn't believe Cayden had slept through the night six nights in a row! I thought to myself, There's no way this is a fluke. Maybe he has finally learned to sleep through the night...
How naive of me. I should have known. Cayden is notorious for doing something just long enough for you to think it is a habit, and then SURPRISE... it's not. Cayden is now back to waking up in the middle of the night.

Great Recipe
I tried a new recipe for dinner tonight; some of the ingredients seem like an odd combination, but they actually taste great together!
~~~~~~~~~~
Tomato-Herb Pasta
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
6 oz whole grain thin spaghetti
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 large cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced into half moons
4 green onions, thinly sliced
1/3 cup firmly packed fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/3 cup firmly packed fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 Tbsp canola oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Preparation
1) Whisk together vinegar and 1 Tbsp sugar in bowl. Add onion and let stand 30 minutes; drain, reserving 2 Tbsp vinegar mixture.
2) Prepare pasta according to package directions.
3) Place chopped tomatoes and next 9 ingredients in a serving bowl. Add hot cooked pasta, onion, and reserved vinegar mixture, gently tossing to combine. Sprinkle with peanuts. Serve immediately, or cover and chill up to 24 hours.
I actually did/will do some things differently the next time I make this recipe. First, I added some cooked, shredded chicken (which tasted great in it and helped make it a little more filling). I also didn't add quite as much mint and still thought there was a bit too much; next time I'll only add half of what it calls for. I personally loved the cilantro and peanuts in it and will add some extra the next time around. I'd probably add some more tomatoes too. :) And even though it seems like a lot of cucumber, it's not; add all of it.
If this sounds good to you, make it and enjoy!
It's Done.
I got my hair cut today. I think there was more hair on the floor than on my head when it was finished. I'm pretty sure I like it, but I'll let you know for sure after I play around with it for awhile. I'll post pictures soon. :)
Yes or No?
I've decided that I want to get my hair cut. I want something shorter than what I've got now, but not so short that I can't pull it back. So tell me this... can I pull off this hair? (Please ignore the fact that I am insanely pale in comparison to the individual I put my face over.) And please be honest; stop me from making a huge mistake if that's what you think. Feel free to tell me if you have any other suggestions for a haircut.
