One Week!
One week (aka seven days) until this little boy is due! I never thought I'd actually make it. Now I'm just hoping that he's not so comfortable inside that he goes past his due date...because really, that would stink.

Last Week vs. This Week
Last Week
* Dilated 1 cm
* 60% effaced
* Baby's head high
This Week
* Dilated 1 cm
* 70% effaced
* Baby's head -2
There's not a lot of change since last week. I guess the best news is that I'm more effaced and the baby's head dropped a lot. (The Dr said the baby's head needs to get to a 0... I'm just 2 centimeters off!) To be completely honest though, I was hoping for more of a difference. Sad day.

Baby Shower!
Last Thursday my mother-in-law and Chad's Aunt Ronda threw a baby shower for our little man! It was a ton of fun and there were a lot of family and friends that were able to come. Several people have asked to see all the wonderful things we were given so I've taken a few pictures.
Note: I was too lazy to lay absolutely everything out and I didn't take any pictures of the clothes because I didn't want to pull them out of the dresser and unfold them. Sorry! But know that they are all so cute!

Me before the baby shower officially started. I look a little confused and yes, I am scratching my belly. :) This is the only picture of me you'll see as I look quite large.
Two of the little ones at the baby shower. Owen is on the left (he is my friend Nicki's son) and Lydia is on the right (Chad's cousin Emmalie's daughter).
A baby bouncer! I was so excited to get one because I wasn't planning on buying one for myself as I figured I could live without it. But, since someone got it for me I won't complain! I love it and hopefully our little man will too.
Lots and lots of blankets! You can never go wrong with blankets and they were all so cute!
Another blanket, but this one had matching booties with it! Chad's Grandma made them. I think the blanket is beautiful and I still can't get over how cute the booties are.
TOYS! I hadn't bought any toys because I figured it would be a few months before the baby even needed them. But I am so excited to have them. And the stuffed animals are all so soft and adorable!

We also received a ton of clothes (ranging from 3 months to 9 months), a memory can where we can put all the things we want to keep for our little man, diapers and baby products, formula/baby food/cereal (i.e. edible items), and cash as a group gift to go buy whatever we need! Thank you everyone for being so generous and wonderful, we appreciate it!
Progress?
I went to the Dr this morning for my weekly appointment and he informed me of the following information:
* I am dilated to a 1
* My cervix is soft, but not soft enough
* The baby's head has dropped a little, but still has a ways to go
He then said if he were a gambling man he would bet that I would be back in his office next Tuesday. *hugh sigh* That being said, I am wondering if this little change is progress at all. I guess I was hoping for more because I am so ready for this little boy to get here. I'm so tired of being pregnant; I feel like I've been pregnant forever. And I still have three weeks left! I've been trying to tell myself all day that even a little change is good, but I don't think I'm succeeding.
The Dr said at this rate the baby seems to be right on schedule for July 5th. Countdown... 19 days...

Grrr
It's 3:30am and I can't sleep. I have been waking up every hour since I went to bed and finally got tired of the laying in bed awake thing. Not sleeping very well at night is getting really old, really fast. I guarantee I'll be exhausted tomorrow.

Wishing
I wish I could make cakes like this so that our little man can have cute birthday cakes (much like I did when I was little). I remember that my mom would make a cake in any shape we wanted for our birthday - bunny, witch, bear, Pikachu, soccer ball, ghost, etc. - and that they were always decorated adorably! Sadly, I do not have the cake decorating talent. Anyone want to teach me?
