Instead of driving home on Sunday like we thought, we were so anxious to get home that we decided to leave on Friday! That's right, we're going home to Utah tomorrow! Not that I'm excited or anything. ;) We'll be staying with Chad's parents until we find a place to live so I probably won't be online much. Plus, we have a family reunion next Wednesday (6 days from now) up in Heber... another reason I won't be online.
Due to the above circumstances don't expect to hear from me for about 2 weeks. Hopefully you are having as much fun as I am!

What Our Cat Does for Fun
Weechee has spent a lot of time this summer in the apartment all by herself which has caused her to come up with some pretty amusing ways of entertaining herself. The other night she discovered a fly in the apartment and spent almost an hour chasing it. She actually caught it a few times, but the fly always managed to get away after it regained consciousness.
She also has a blast playing with the closet doors because they are huge mirrors. She will randomly attack the mirrors, often running into the doors. Sometimes she attacks the clothes inside through the crack where the two doors meet.

Although I don't have any of this on video, Weechee also enjoys turning our apartment into an obstacle course; she climbs, jumps, leaps, and runs around and on everything (and at a ridiculously fast speed)! Another one of Weechee's favorite things to do is run head first into the bedroom and living room panel blinds making them bang into each other in every direction. You might think this is funny, but how would you like to get woken up at 5:30am to your cat playing with the blinds? Yeah, annoying.

Lots of Things...
Let's see... a lot has happened in this past week. On Tuesday (the 29th) I survived my very first earthquake! It was a 5.4 on the scale, but because we were 50ish miles from the epicenter it didn't feel as big. However, having never been in an earthquake before I was a bit freaked out. My thought process was something along these lines, "What the heck is going on?! ...Wait, I am in California which happens to be notorious for earthquakes... I think this might be an earthquake." By the time I got to that point the earthquake was over and had I needed to save myself I would have been in trouble. :) I suppose I have now had the true California experience.
On Wednesday my mom and two of my sisters came to visit. We had a lot of fun with them! Here is a short breakdown of what we did each day:
Wednesday: We went to the beach and dug for sand crabs. It was really funny to see my sisters get freaked out by the little crabs. I was by far the best sand crab finder.
Thursday: Disneyland! Chad took the day off and we spent all day at Disneyland. It was so much fun. I was really surprised at how short the lines were; we didn't spend much time in line at all.
Friday: We went to the Tar Pit museum (which by the way smells absolutely disgusting!) and then just hung out at the apartment.
Saturday: We drove up to Hollywood to see the walk of fame and the sign. It was really cool to see Grauman's Chinese theater with the stars' hand/footprints in front. There were some funny prints too, like Whoopi Goldberg's dreds, R2D2, and C3PO.
Sunday: We went to the beach again and built an amazing sandcastle! We even dug a moat around it and filled it up with water! People all over the beach kept posing and taking pictures with it. (They'll probably even try to claim it was theirs. Lol.)
Monday: I had to go in to work in the morning and so in the afternoon we just hung out and played games. Right before they left for their flight they found out that their original flight was canceled. Talk about panic! They were able to get on another flight, but didn't get in to Denver until about 3am. Yucky.
Chad and I loved having my family here to visit! It was sad to see them go home. Here are some pictures of our lovely adventures...
On another note, the last day of work for both of us will be Thursday, August 14. We'll have the weekend to pack/enjoy our last few days in LA and then on Sunday we will be driving back to Utah. We're actually really excited to be leaving. While we have enjoyed our time here, we are looking forward to getting back to what we consider "normal" life. :) Also, we have missed Chad's family and so it will be nice to be closer to them again.
