September Wrap-Up

  • Cayden playing with his "colors" (colored vinegar and baking soda). Love this activity!
  • Showing off his big boy underwear! We quit diapers cold turkey and went straight to underwear. We'll see how long this potty training thing takes...
  • Laura "trying" to fall asleep all on her own. I die laughing each time I look at this picture.
  • Cayden and Laura watching YouTube videos. Cute, cute kids.
  • Playing on Daddy's phone. Love that Cayden is sharing with Laura!
  • Cayden during school. He loves getting to do school two times a week and I think it is really good for him.
  • Riding motorcycles. He was "vroom vrooming" and everything. :)
  • Cayden successfully filled in his potty chart and got to go pick out a special train as his prize. Our new chart is much longer and takes way more stickers to fill in as he is going several times a day now. *yay!*
  •  Laura passed out during nap time.

And... cause they are honestly the cutest things ever, my two kiddos. :)

Laura Bug

Because I think she is so adorable and I can't get enough of her, here are some super cute pictures of my little princess. (Sometimes I overhear Cayden talking to Laura and telling her she is a princess. So precious.) Goodness, I sure love this girl!

Laura and Grandma

Ah! Love that huge open-mouthed smile!

Playing :)

She still has chubby cheeks. Love them.

Fathers and Sons (aka Semi Freedom for Mom)

Last weekend Chad took Cayden on our ward's Fathers and Sons. They left just after dinner Friday night and got back late Saturday morning. I didn't know what to do with myself! I'm so used to running errands with two kids that one was a breeze. Just imagine what no kids would be like; I'd be in and out in seconds - superwoman right here. ;)

Showing off his marshmallow.

Climbing on a rock with friends. Cayden found some kids his age and buddied up with them. Cute kids.

Daddy let Cayden play with a smoking stick (aka Cayden was playing in the fire). If you ask Cayden what his favorite part of camping was, it was the fire. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up a future pyro. (Though he'll be a very cautious and careful one. This kid thinks things through and doesn't just jump in come hell or high water.)

Colorado Randoms

Laura's first taste of a popsicle = love at first bite!

Driving!

Cute picture of Grandma and Laura.

There was lots of sucking on water bottles. A few times Laura managed to spit in the water bottle and spill it all over herself.

First pedicure! Love painted baby toes. Auntie Rachelle, I need you to come visit so Laura can have painted toes again.

Eating way too much junk at the Stake Carnival.

This sleepy babe was the queen of cat naps while in Colorado. So obnoxious.

Cayden loves corn and did so much better this time around. (No chunks were missing from the cob.)

Play time! Laura actually loved sitting in the bucket.

Indoctrination

Indoctrinating our children into the "Chad Higgins" way of life. (BTW, this is all Chad's doing.)

Mountain Dew

Sadly, Cayden knows the taste of MD all too well and can easily identify it. I try to limit his rations.

Taco Bell

Starting her young. Poor girl. Also, Cayden knows where every TB is in Provo/Orem and has been know to request TB at random.

Ice Cream

What you don't see in the video is her crying because we ran out of ice cream. This little girl is nuts for table food. We can't eat any meal without her squealing like a pig and demanding some.

Colorado Railroad Museum

During our most recent visit to Colorado we visited the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. There are rows and rows of trains, many of which have been restored (some you can even walk around inside of) and others are sitting there waiting their turn. Cayden was in train heaven and I, surprisingly, loved it too! It would be fun to go again sometime without little kids and be able to look at everything and read everything.

Turning the brake on the caboose.

Inside a boxcar. I told him I was going to shut him inside and he was too excited to care.

Driving the engine! It was so bright outside!

One of his favorite things... peeking out of engines!

Inside a caboose. Cayden climbed all over inside, including all the way to the top. Who knew cabooses actually have a purpose?!

Cute boy looking through the connection between the engine and coal car. (Though normally the iron bars aren't there.)

Proof that Laura and I were there. Also, my FAVORITE engine we saw. It was by far the oldest and the coolest.
